Google India has partnered with Xolo and Indonesia's Nexian to launch two Chromebooks at Rs 12,999 each.

The specifications for both these Chromebooks is very much similar. It sports a 11.6-inch TFT display with 1366 x 768 pixel resolution. It is powered by a Rockchip 3288 SoC having a 1.8GHz quad-core Cortex A17 processor along with a quad-core ARM Mali 760 GPU and a 2GB RAM. The Chromebook has an in-built storage of 16GB but can be expanded via SD card. The devices will run on Google’s Chrome OS and is equipped with USB 2.0 ports, an HDMI port, a 1 MP web camera and  Bluetooth 4.0. It comes with decent 4,200mAh battery. While the Nexian Air Chromebook features a rugged body and has a pop-up handle which makes it easy to carry the device around, the Xolo laptop lacks these features. Google is also bundling free access to 100GB of cloud storage with each of the new devices. The Xolo chromebook will soon be available on Snapdeal where as the Nexian Air can be pre-ordered at Amazon

Smita Hashim, Global Product Manager, Chrome OS at Google said, “When we introduced Chromebooks 4 years ago, we wanted to build a laptop for the way people use computers today, always fast, easy to use and secure by default. Since launching Chromebooks in India, we’ve been working to ensure that Chromebooks work in an environment where connectivity can be spotty and many people’s first experiences with technology are through a phone rather than a laptop.”
