Freedom 251 smartphone launched at Rs 251, cheapest phone in the world

Ringing Bells has announced the launch of the cheapest smartphone in India (and probably World's cheapest) at Rs 251 only (appr. 2.5 Pounds/1 Kuwait dinar). The Freedom 251 3G smartphone has been designed in line with the Make in India concept. The smartphone is available for booking from the company's website Bookings on 18th February at 6 am. 




The smartphone features a 4-inch touchscreen display with a resolution of 540 pixels by 960 pixels. It is powered by 1.3GHz quad-core coupled with 1GB RAM. The single SIM (GSM) phone has 8GB internal memory and can be expanded up to 32GB via microSD card. The Freedom 251 sports a 3.2 Megapixel rear camera and a 0.3 Megapixel front camera. 

It runs on Android 5.1 Lollipop and houses a 1450mAh removable battery. In terms of connectivity, it has Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, FM. Sensors. It also has preinstalled mobile applications like Women Safety, Swachh Bharat, Fisherman, Farmer, Medical, WhatsApp, Facebook, YouTube.
