Honor's flagship device Honor 7 launched for Rs 22,999

Honor launched its flagship smartphone, Honor 7 smartphone at an event in Delhi. The fully-metallic device has a 5.2-inch full hd 1080p display. It comes equipped with fingerprint scanner which boasts of smarter fingerprint technology and allows 360-degree fingerprint authentication from various angles. The reader also supports intuitive gesture control that enables users to do everything from answering calls to take photos to check notifications. It also provides a solution that requires a smaller fingerprint touch area and screen unlock within shortest timespan of  0.5 seconds.

Honor also unveiled its Band Z1, priced at Rs 5,499, slated for sale by the end of October. Honor Band Z1 has a circular design with brushed metal bezel around the corners and display at the center. The band is dust proof and water resistant and has been accredited with IP68. Combined with MyFitnessPal app, the band also comes loaded with features like: call reminding, SMS notification, calorie consumption tracker, calendar function and includes a three day battery life. 

Honor India is the first mobile handset brand to incorporate a pre-embedded SOS feature in the phone. It can be activated by pressing the power button and shaking the phone as well as other combination of buttons. This feature will be made available in the first batch of Honor 7.

The handset is powered by HiSilicon octa-core Kirin 935 processor with its A53 coupled with 3GB RAM. It has an 16GB inbuilt memory and houses a decent 3,100mAh battery. The smartphone sports a 20 MP rear facing camera powered by a Sony IMX 230 sensor and Honor’s PDAF fast-focusing technology and an 8MP front-facing camera which offers a wide-angle f/2.4 aperture lens and built-in LED flash. 

An additional button placed on the left-side of the device can be used for snappy Google searches on-the-go. The Honor 7 also has an interesting feature, for taking screenshots easier with its knuckle-tap feature, through which users need only tap on the screen twice with their knuckles for an instant full-screen capture. 

The Honor 7 will be available in two colors, Mystery Gray and Fantasy Silver at the retail price of Rs. 22,999. It will be available from 15th October, 2015 and will be exclusively sold on Flipkart.

Gionee Pioneer P3S launched in India at Rs 5,999

Chinese company, Gionee has launched a budget smartphone, Pioneer P3S priced at Rs 5,999. 



Announcing the new Pioneer P3S smartphone, Timir Baran Acharyya, GM, Gionee India said, "The latest offering Pioneer P3S is one of its kind device which packs stunning looks with powerful technology and is yet affordable. P3S ensures that consumers don’t have to compromise on quality and features over pricing."

The smartphone has a 4.5 inch display screen with 480 x 854 pixel resolution. It is powered by a MediaTek MT6580 chipset with a 1.3GHz quad-core processor coupled with 1GB RAM. It runs Android 5.1 Lollipop OS out of the box with the Amigo 3.1 skin on top. 

It has an inbuilt storage of 16GB which can be expanded up to 32GB via microSD card. The handset sports a 5MP rear camera and a 0.3MP front camera. In terms of connectivity, it has Wi-Fi, GPS/ A-GPS, GPRS/ EDGE, Bluetooth, and Micro-USB. The smartphone comes backed by a 2000mAh battery. It comes in four color options, white, grey, red, and golden.

OnePlus 2 Launched For Rs 24,999 (USD $389)

Chinese smartphone company OnePlus launched its flagship model OnePlus 2 in China today. The launch was also streamed worldwide via its first VR Launch. The smartphone will be available in India, USA, Canada, Europe and China from August 11 and you will need an invite to get one. Here is how you get one.


The OnePlus 2 features a 5.5-inch full HD (1080x1920 pixel) display screen with 1500:1 contrast ratio. It is powered by a 64 bit octa-core Snapdragon 810 v2.1 SoC processor coupled with 4GB of LPDDR4 RAM. The flagship device has a 64GB in-built memory. It also has a fingerprint sensor which can store up to 5 prints. 

The OnePlus 2 will have 4G Nano sim cards, as well as USB Type-C connectivity. The OnePlus 2 sports a 13 Megapixel rear camera with a 1.3 micron sensor, laser autofocus with dual LED flash and a 5 Megapixel front facing camera. It packs in a 3300 mAh battery and weighs 175 grams. The OnePlus 2 will have the OxygenOS with Android Lollipop. 




OnePlus will also be releasing the 16GB version with 3GB RAM later this year at Rs 22,999. The 64GB version OnePlus 2 is priced at Rs 24,999 and will be available exclusively on Amazon on August 11.
