OPPO India Launches Budget Smartphone Neo 5 For Rs 9,990

OPPO announced the launch of its budget phone, Neo 5 in the Indian market for Rs 9,990. The dual-sim Neo 5 sports 4.5inch IPS display with 480X854 pixels. The front screen is scratch-resistant Dragon trail glass and the rear cover is applied with special laminating, and the material used is the glass fiber which is military using class. 


It offers a 1.3GHz Quad Core Processor with 1 GB RAM. The company claims the phone has a standby time of 180 hours. This Smartphone runs on Color OS 2.0.1i based on Android 4.4 powered by MediaTek MT6582. The Smartphone weighs 135gm and has 219 PPI. It has 8GB ROM which is expandable upto 32GB. 


Commenting on the new launch, Mr. Tom Lu, CEO, OPPO Mobiles India said, "Apart from urban India, OPPO is focusing on rural markets as well as Indian market’s major population lies in rural areas which are a huge market in itself. OPPO Neo 5 will target consumers who expect superior specifications at decent pricing. Out target is to reach out and cater to each segment in the market. We are excited to introduce Neo 5 for our young and energetic customers, a Smartphone series which has generated great response in the past."


The OPPO Neo 5 features an 8 megapixel rear with SonyIMX179 Backside Illuminated (BSI) sensor, with a sensor size of 1/3.2 inches and a pixel size of 1.4µm, F/2.2 large aperture, 5P lens while the front camera has 2 megapixel. OPPO Neo 5 is powered by ColorOS 2.0.1 based on Android 4.4 and packs in a non-removable 2000mAh battery.
