Android Marshmallow scheduled for OnePlus devices

OnePlus users who have been wondering about Android Marshmallow update, well here's some news. 

OnePlus X


For the OnePlus One, Cyanogen OS will be updated to Marshmallow by the first quarter of 2016. OnePlus will be updating the community build of OxygenOS for the OnePlus One when time allows.

The OnePlus 2 will also be updated in Quarter 1, and the update will include the new standard Marshmallow API for the fingerprint sensor. OnePlus says that they have received requests for creating an API for the current fingerprint implementation in OxygenOS, but have decided against it since they’re switching over to the standard Android M implementation soon.

OnePlus has been working hard to bring Marshmallow as soon as possible to the OnePlus X, and will have an update on a time frame at a later time. Meanwhile, OnePlus will keep rolling out updates as soon as possible for OxygenOS!

OnePlus has announced a unique promotion today for it’s OnePlus One fans in Bengaluru. OnePlus fans will have the opportunity to get the OnePlus One handset delivered at their doorstep in 60 minutes or they get it absolutely FREE. Yes, you read it right. The promotion runs for three days, starting today till the  10th of October. 



OnePlus has tied up with Blowhorn, a Bengaluru based marketplace focussed on intra-city logistics marketplace startup, to make the 60 minutes delivery commitment  possible. The countdown to the 60  minutes delivery will begin once the order is accepted by Blowhorn. 

Customers have to download the Blowhorn mobile application from Google Play Store, place an order through the app and upon its acceptance, the brand new OnePlus One handset will be delivered at their doorstep within 60 minutes. As of now, the project is being rolled out in Bengaluru and will soon be taken to other cities as well.

OnePlus Announces 3 Months Extended Warranty On Smartphones In India

All service issues pending for more than 15 days to get a complimentary 3 months extended warranty

OnePlus has announced an 'extended warranty' service for its smartphone users in India. All service related issues till date and henceforth pending for more than 15 working days at service centres will automatically get a 3 months extended warranty. This service will be applicable on the OnePlus One and all future smartphones. 



Vikas Agarwal, OnePlus General Manager India, said: "OnePlus is committed to long term growth in India and are investing significant resources in revamping our service offerings. While it is our constant endeavor to close most of our customer service requests within 3 days, this complimentary extended warranty will compensate users in case of any unexpected delays. Our goal is to continue to gather feedback from our users and strive to provide the best service and support than any consumer brand in the country", he added.

All Indian users who purchased the One from oneplus.net prior to the India launch will  also be eligible for this service. Currently, the OnePlus One smartphone is available in 16GB and 64GB variants for Rs 18,998 and Rs 21,998 respectively on Amazon India. According to reports, OnePlus 2 is likely to be launched by th end of this month.

OnePlus To Shake Up Tech Industry On June 1

Chinese start-up OnePlus has tweeted on its official account that it plans to launch something big that will shake the Tech industry on June 1st.


The tweet has raised expectations that OnePlus is hinting at its upcoming device, the OnePlus Two smartphone. Earlier a Geekbench Benchmark test for a device named OnePlus One A2001 was spotted online. The benchmark test revealed that the model runs Android 5.1, has a ARM Qualcomm @ 1.55 GHz with 8 cores. The ‘leaked’ test was seen as a confirmation that OnePlus Two will come with Snapdragon 810 SoC.

The tweet reads, "We’re always looking for ways to shake up the tech industry. And we think it’s time for change. Find out more June 1."

A report on GizChina had also noted how OnePlus CEO Pete Lau had discussed the specifications of his company’s upcoming smartphone on China’s Weibo site. Lau had spoken about how the OnePlus Two will come with Snapdragon 810 and will be launched in the third quarter of 2015.

OnePlus One-The name says it all. The Bamboo StyleSwap Cover for OnePlus has been launched in India and will be available on Amazon India Store starting today from 2 pm for Rs 1,499 only. The actual cost of the accessory is Rs 3,000 and it is offering flat 50% discount.
  
The cover is made from premium quality natural bamboo that protects the phone from dust and scratches. The company claims that the entire production time is 21 days and involves 28 different procedures which include drying, carbonising, polishing and laser cut finishing to finally carve it into place. The company has launched only one smartphone till date, OnePlus One. It is expected to launch the next phone later this year. The Chinese smartphone company OnePlus has been doing quite well in India in terms of sales and was a hit last year.

The OnePlus One smartphone has a 5.5-inch full hd display (1080 x 1920 pixels) with 3GB of RAM. It sports a 13megapixel Auto focus dual led rear camera and a 5megapixel front facing camera. It is powered by Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 801 quad-core processor along with an Adreno 330 GPU. It weighs 162 grams and comes with non-removable 3,100mAh battery. The phone is available in 16GB Silk White and 64GB Sandstone Black colors and priced at Rs 19,000 and Rs 22,000 respectively.
