Gionee Unveils Elife E8 And Marathon M5 Smartphones At Beijing

Chinese company Gionee unveiled two smartphones at Beijing including its flagship model Elife E8 for 3999 RMB (Rs 41,300). The other model being Marathon M5 smartphone for 2299 RMB (Rs 23,700). The Gionee smartphones are well know in terms of camera features.



The Gionee E8 has a mammoth 6-inch Super Amoled screen (2560 x 1440 pixels) and sports 24 Megapixel rear camera which allows lossless Zoom up to 3X. The secondary camera is an 8 Megapixel camera. It is powered by 2GHz Mediatek MT6785 octa-core processor and comes with 3GB of RAM. The smartphone comes with 64GB in-built memory which can be extended via micro-sd slot. The dual-sim phone packs in a powerful 3520mAh battery. Fingerprint scanner and Dual speakers adds to its features. It runs Android Lollipop 5.1 out of the box with company’s Amigo 3.1 software.

The second smartphone M5 sports a 5.5" HD Amoled display and 6020mAh battery. The smartphone actually has a pair of batteries, each 3,010mAh. It is powered by a MediaTek MT6735 processor with 2 GB of RAM and 16 GB of in-built memory. It has a 13 MP camera on the back and 5 MP in the front. The company claims the batteries will last up to 4 days and boost standby time  to 62 hours with 5 percent battery life.

Both the smartphones have currently been announced for China only. The Marathon M5 will be available from June 25 and the Elife E8 will be available from July 15 onwards.
