MTS Becomes The First Operator In The Country To Introduce Data Plans For Internet Calling

Sistema Shyam Tele-Services Limited that provides telecom services under the brand MTS has today rolled out net-neutral internet calling plans for both prepaid and postpaid customers. Customers can use the data for making internet calls using any internet calling application of their choice, be it over WhatsApp, Skype, Viber, etc. 




As per the plan, users can opt to use 5GB data for 5000 minutes of internet calls. The 5000 minutes of internet call guarantee for 5GB data is calculated basis using the standard voice codecs.  

According to Sandeep Yadav, Chief Marketing & Brand Officer – MTS India, "MTS India does not support any discrimination or preferential treatment when it comes to internet services. It is our belief that the freedom to access and use internet services the way a customer wants should rest with the customer himself. Our latest "Anti-Zero Rating Plans" allow customers the freedom to use data for internet calling if they wish to. Simply put, the Rs 499 plan which offers 5GB data will translate into 5000 minutes of internet calls."

The rollout will be supported by an exclusive television commercial (TVC) which will be aired across major national channels with special emphasis on regional channels in the 9 circles where MTS operates. The campaign will also be supported by digital, social media and out of home (OOH) media.

Videocon introduces Z51 Punch and Z51Q Star budget smartphones

Videocon has introduced a range of new budget smartphones – the Videocon Z51 Punch and the Videocon Z51Q Star. The smartphones features Quad-Core Processor, 3G network, Android Kit-Kat OS.

Videocon Z51 Punch

Videocon Z51 Punch comes with Android 4.4.2 KitKat OS and is backed by 1.2 GHz Quad-Core Processor coupled with 1 GB RAM. The Z51 Punch features 8MP Auto-focus rear camera and a 5 MP Front Camera. It houses a 3000 mAh battery and has a 5-inch IPS Capacitive Touch Screen. The smartphones supports 8GB internal memory (expandable upto 32GB) and includes Dual SIM, Bluetooth, GPS, Radio, G-sensor and proximity sensors. The Z51 Punch comes encased in style casings in black and grey profiles and comes with a attached Flipcover. The device costs Rs. 5,999.

Videocon Z51Q Star

Videocon Z51Q Star comes with 5-inch FWVGA IPS Capacitive Touch Screen and comes with Android 4.4.2 KitKat OS. It has 1GB RAM and is powered by 1.2 GHz Quad-Core Processor. It is priced at Rs 5,490. Available in black colour profile, Z51Q Star is equipped with a high-quality 5MP BSI Auto Focus Rear camera and a 2MP Front Camera. Packed with features like 8GB internal memory (expandable upto 32GB), Dual SIM, Bluetooth, 3G connectivity, the handset is enabled with a lightning-fast HSPA+ upto 21mbps* download capability for faster internet browsing and access backed by a robust 2000 mAh battery. Intex launches Aqua Ace smartphone, with 3GB RAM for only Rs12,999/-

Intex has launched a 3GB RAM smartphone - Aqua ACE for just Rs. 12,999. With the price Intex is offering for this handset, it is also the first ever by an Indian handset player in this price category. 



The 4G-enabled Aqua ACE features a 5-inch SUPER AMOLED HD IPS display, powered by a 3GB RAM Mediatek (MT6735) chipset. The display and body is protected by double sided (both front and back) Corning Gorilla Glass 3.

ASUS Smartphones to be manufactured in India

ASUS will soon be local manufacturing its smartphones in Sri City, Andhra Pradesh. ASUS will start its manufacturing operations with Zenfone 2 Laser model which will soon be followed by ZenFone Go. 



The company aims to manufacture 150,000 smartphones per month by the end of the current financial year which will account for almost 80% of sales in India. 

Last month, at the first edition of Zen Festival in India, the company launched its brand new offerings - Zenfone Selfie, Zenfone 2 Laser and Zenfone 2 Deluxe. 

The ASUS Zenfone 2 Laser has a high-definition (HD) 1280 x 720-pixel resolution. It sports a 5 MP front camera and 13 MP rear camera with laser- assisted auto-focus that allows the consumers to lock the focus on an object in as low as 0.3 seconds. The phone comes with Anti-Scratch Corning Gorilla Glass 4 and has dual microphone with noise cancellation. It supports full HD video recording 1080p@30fps capture with video stabilization and one-touch still-capture facility. 

The ZenFone Go is a 3G device and has a LCD display with an anti-fingerprint coating, a high resolution 1280 x 720 HD IPS display, sporting a pixel density of 294ppi.
